WGAZ Guard Championships
April 19, 2008
The Winterguard finished their 2007-2008 season at the WGAZ Guard Championships on April 19th. They achieved a score of 87.7 and tied for third place overall.
Heritage Festival, San Diego California
Spring Tour, March 27-29
Wind Ensemble took 1st place in Division 3 (The highest division) and the Symphonic Band took 3rd in the same division. Highland High School won the overall best high school music program, which is awarded to a school that sent a band and a choir and that all performed well. The Wind Ensemble earned an extra award for scoring over 92 points in the judging. Jason Bauer received an award for his saxophone solo. In addition to the trophies, both bands were invited to compete in Nationals which is held in Los Angeles next year.
ABODA Festival Results
February 22, 2008
All of the concert ensembles participated in the ABODA Festival held at Highland High School on Friday and Saturday, February 22 and 23. They earned the following ratings:
- Wind Ensemble - Superior with Distinction
- Symphonic Band - Superior
- Concert Band II - Excellent
- Concert Band I - Good
University of Arizona Band Day
November 17, 2007
The marching band performed at the University of Arizona Band Day. They received a rating of superior for the band and excellent for the auxiliary.
ABODA State Marching Festival
November 10, 2007
The marching band performed at the ABODA State Marching Festival. They received a rating of superior with distinction. They received the following captions:

- Visual Performance
- Music Performance
- General Effect
Bands of America Regional Championship at Flagstaff
November 4, 2007
The band competed in the BOA Regional Championship at Flagstaff on November 3. They performed well enough in the preliminary round to be one of the 10 bands chosen to compete again in the finals. Gilbert Marching Invitational
October 27, 2007
The band marched in the Gilbert Marching Invitational on October 27. The band received a score of 83.0 and 3rd place in Division I, 4th place overall. Our percussion was awarded the Division I Percussion Caption.
Marcos De Niza Invitational
October 16, 2007
The band performed at the Marcos De Niza Invitational. The band received an excellent rating.
Arizona Percussive Arts Society Fall Festival
September 29, 2007
The drumline participated in the AZPAS Fall Festival. The drumline received a rating of superior. The front ensemble and bass drums received captions.
