Highland Jazz Festival

WOW!

This was the reaction from all of the directors, students, clinicians, guest artists, parents, and audience members who attending the jazz festival last month. We have exceeded everyone's expectations in providing a festival that is professionally run, highly educational for the students and directors, and very entertaining for general audiences. Special thanks to Lewis Nelson and Jodie Weiss for doing an absolutely amazing job in helping us provide the foundation in creating a highly successful festival that will continue to grow over the years and provide some needed funding for us to continue to have a successful band program. Thanks all of the parents and students who helped with make the festival run smoothly and provide a comfortable and professional atmosphere. It cannot be done right without everyone's willingness to help out and to make sure to do it right.

We are happy to announce that Jeff Coffin and his Mu'tet will be the Friday's guest artists for the 2011 Highland Jazz Festival. Jeff Coffin is a 3 time Grammy Award winning saxophonist who is a member of the Dave Matthews Band and Bela Fleck and the Flecktones. The Mu'tet consists of the following amazing musicians: Jeff Sipe on drums, Kofi Burbridge on keyboards and flute, Bill Fanning on trumpet, and Felix Pastorius on bass. (Yes, Jaco's son.)
