Our guest artists will also be joined by some of our clinicians in an all-star combo performance and the Arizona State University Concert Jazz Band led by Michael Kocour. In addition the High School Jazz Band that receives the Judge’s Most Outstanding Award from Friday and Saturday’s clinic/performances, will open Saturday’s concert!
Our clinicians include:
- Erik Applegate - Assistant Professor of Music and Jazz Bass at University of Northern Colorado
- Tito Carrillo - Assistant Professor of Jazz Trumpet at University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign
- Robert Morgan - Director of Jazz Studies Emeritus at Houston H. S. for Perf./Visual Arts
- Matt Olson - Associate Professor of Saxophone and Director of Jazz Studies at Furman University
- Aric Schneller - Director of Jazz Studies, Trombone & Voice at Sam Houston State University

- Saturday Night - Joe Lovano, HJF All-Star Combo, ASU’s Concert Jazz Band, & the Judge’s Outstanding Jazz Band recipient will open the concert.
Master Classes

Festival Performance Setup:
- Check-in at the lobby of the auditorium.
- You will warm-up in an ensemble room one half hour before your scheduled performance.
- You will have thirty minutes to perform in the auditorium which includes your ensemble setup and tear down time.
- Following your performance, you will be provided a clinic from either Aric Schneller or Robert Morgan
